can a golf pro shop offset the face angle?
i got a new driver but i want one that is draw bias the kind i got did not come in draw version can i pro shop offset the club head so that it is draw bias
No, it can’t be bent into an offset position. You can, however, change the center of gravity location closer to the heel (draw-biased) with lead or tungsten tape. Be advised, though, that it’s going to take a LOT of lead tape (not as much tungsten, which the only place I’ve ever seen it offered is at The Golf Works). You’d be looking at 10+ strips of 2″ lead tape strips, all located in the same spot, for this to be effective. In my opinion, it’ll make the club unsightly, but if it doesn’t bother you, try that route. If anything, it’ll be cheaper than buying a whole new club head.
I just remembered: you could remove the head and put a lead/tungsten tip pin (heavier than 10g) in the shaft tip and reattach the head (or have a club fitter do this if you aren’t feeling confident). You could also remove the grip and put lead/tungsten powder down the shaft (again, more than 10g); from there, put a cork in the shaft and force it down as far as it can go with a 48″ ramrod. After that, just put a new grip on. These two tactics have the same effect as lead tape and looks unsightly. I want to say that it can be done yourself, but I strongly advise consulting with a club fitter on this one.
